Steps in Invisalign®/Clear aligner
- At your first visit, a treatment plan will be mapped out with your goals in mind. Then, impressions and pictures of your teeth will be digitized in order to work with a computerized 3-D image of your teeth.
- Then, dentist will plan your tooth movements throughout your entire treatment timeline. You will be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during, and after completion of the Invisalign® process.
- From the doctor’s precise treatment plan, customized personal aligners will be created using sophisticated technology by the Invisalign® / Clear aligner, for you to wear at each stage of your treatment and a full set of treatment typically includes 20-40 aligners per arch.
- Each set of aligners are worn for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
- As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position the dentist has prescribed.
- You will visit dentist approximately once every 4-6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
- Total treatment time averages 11-18 months with the average number of aligners worn during treatment between 18 and 30 however would vary between different patients.
