At Beaufort Street Dental Centre your child’s first appointment will be for a detailed assessment and consultation with one of our dentists. We will discuss any concerns or problems and, following a detailed examination, we will go through the treatment needs and options available. However, we understand that very often patients and also parents, come to see us for the first time with a degree of anxiety and we know that behaviour of the child in the first dental visit often shapes the behaviour in subsequent visits. Therefore, we aim to make their first visit an easy and positive introduction to dentistry, whilst evaluating the anxiety and co-operation levels of the child.
Eligible child aged between 2 to 17 has access to primary dental care benefits under Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) by Medicare. It now offers up to $1095 per child over two consecutive calendar years. The fund covers general examinations, preventive and restorative treatments such as x-rays, fillings, and even root canal.
